We all know that roaming profiles cause problems every once in a while. There are drawbacks but there are also benefits -- to name a few:
Drawbacks:
-They get corrupted
-Users run out of space
-Can be difficult to troubleshoot
-Significant infrastructure resources must be committed
Benefits:
-Settings follow users
-Applications don't need to install user settings every time they are run
-Are needed to address some accessibility concerns
Please answer the poll question and share your thoughts about roaming profiles. |

Drawbacks:
-user's lose data during logout/crashes/etc. because profile isn't copied up to server
-redirection(%appdata%) + roaming can cause version mismatches within the profile
-slower login times
-brokenness follows the user
Benefits:
-less work determining the "perfect default settings" |
