Required Tools

in order to perform remote server and AD management functions on your workstation, you need to update some administrive tools.

You of course must have local administator rights to install these tools.

You can find versions of these tools under \\unity.ad.ncsu.edu\itd\Share\Administrative Tools\Microsoft

AD Management tools
Install Filename	Contents
windowsxp-mmc30-kb907265-x86.exe	The MMC version 3 upgrade for Windows XP. This needs to be installed before any of the new plugins can be used.
pmcmgmt.exe	Windows Print Management Console (Server 2003R2)
idmu.exe	ID Management for Unix. Install this to manage unix uid/gid/gecos information kept in AD.
gpmc.msi	Group Policy Management Console (use this, not the built in "GPO Editor!")
fsrmgmt.exe	File Services/Replication Management. Use to manage DFS shares and replication.
