Using the Novell Application Launcher

Launching an application
You can launch an application from the Novell Application Launcher (NAL) by double-clicking on its icon. Or, you can right-click on an icon and select Open.

Finding the application icons
If you see a plus beside the Unity Applications folder, click on it.

This will expand the folder list:

When expanded, you can see the subfolders under the Unity Applications folder.
Click on the Unity Applications folder, or the subfolders, to see the application icons associated with the folder.

You can also click on the [ALL] item to see all of the application icons at once.

Verifying an application
If an application is damaged or not working properly, you can verify the application's installation. To do so, right-click on the icon for the application that isn't working, and select Verify from the pop-up menu. The application's files and settings will be redistributed to your workstation.

Getting information about an application
You can get information about an application by right-clicking on its icon and selecting Properties from the pop-up menu.

The General tab provides a description of the application. Click on the Help Contacts tab to find out whom you should  contact for help with that application. The phone number and email address of the appropriate help desk are at the bottom of the panel.
